Santarém police detain man following convenience store assault

In Santarém, a dispute at a convenience store attached to a gas station resulted in physical aggression and police intervention early Monday morning. The incident, which occurred around 2:30 a.m. in the Diamantino neighborhood, began when an individual allegedly refused to pay for consumed alcoholic beverages and physically assaulted a female employee.

Security footage showed the suspect, identified as Tiago Lima, accompanied by two other men while other employees attempted to intervene. Although the suspect eventually paid the bill, police from the Amazonas Battalion located him at a different bar and took him to the 16th Civil Police Station for legal proceedings.
