Sant’Enea: Autopsies confirm fatal injuries in teenage car crash

Autopsies have been performed on Samuele Morettini, 16, and Leonardo Bertino, 17, following a fatal car accident in Sant’Enea. Initial results confirm that the deaths were caused by severe traumatic injuries sustained during the crash.

The incident occurred on the evening of August 27 along the Marscianese road. The victims were traveling in a Mercedes Classe A with three other passengers when the vehicle veered off the road at a curve, overturned multiple times, and struck a house. The two teenagers were ejected from the vehicle, while the other occupants sustained injuries.

The Perugia Prosecutor's Office is investigating the dynamics of the crash, specifically focusing on the vehicle's speed. An 18-year-old driver with a new license is under investigation for road homicide. Forensic examinations are also being conducted to determine if the use of seatbelts was compatible with the injuries sustained.
