Santi case: Drusiotis and Kyriakou appear in court

Makarios Drusiotis and Kyriaki Kyriakou made their first court appearance at the Nicosia District Court regarding the high-profile ‘Santi’ case. The indictment against the two individuals includes a total of 101 charges, covering offenses such as the creation and circulation of forged documents, the publication of false news, and harassment.

The prosecution requested that the case be referred directly to the Nicosia Assize Court, arguing that the nature of the charges is not suitable for a summary examination. While defense lawyers argued that the case was not appropriate for the Assize Court and claimed they had not yet received all witness material, the judge ruled that the indictment must be examined by the Assize Court.

A hearing for the direct referral to the Assize Court has been scheduled for December 15. No detention requests were made, and a bail amount of 10,000 euros was set.
