Santiago Auserón receives the 2025 Aragonese Letters Prize
Santiago Auserón, the Aragonese musician, composer, writer, and researcher, has been awarded the 2025 Premio de las Letras Aragonesas. The award, presented by the Government of Aragon, recognizes his career-long dialogue between literature, philosophy, and music.
During the ceremony held at the Edificio Pignatelli, Auserón expressed that receiving the award carries the responsibility of “favoring the approach between different arts, such as music and song lyrics.” He emphasized the connection between written verse and other forms of expression, including music, gesture, and historical thought. He noted that an artisan of song should work to strengthen the bond between arts and knowledge to improve social coexistence.
The jury unanimously recognized his contributions as a lyricist and writer, highlighting his international reach and his ability to merge musical and philosophical disciplines. The event was presided over by the President of the Government of Aragon, Jorge Azcón, and sponsored by Bodegas Enate.
