Santiago celebrates 305 years since its mission foundation

The municipality of Los Cabos is celebrating the 305th anniversary of the founding of the Santiago Mission. The commemorations include a variety of artistic, cultural, and civic activities designed to strengthen community identity and preserve local traditions.

Key events include the coronation of Daniela as Reina Pericú and the inauguration of a mural in General Francisco J. Múgica Plaza, which depicts the flora and fauna of the Sierra de la Laguna. Local authorities, including Director General of Social Development Carlos Castro Ceseña and municipal delegate Aracely Cota Ruiz, led the ceremonies and honored former leaders of the Santiago Delegation.

Scheduled activities include a civic act at the Delegation plaza, the presentation of the book ‘La memoria castigada, los libros de bautismo de la Iglesia de Santiago’, sculpture exhibitions, pottery workshops, lectures, and a photographic exhibition.
