Santiago court sets minimum settlement for Di Mondo vs. Mega lawsuit
A labor court in Santiago has established a minimum floor of 150 million Chilean pesos for a potential settlement between influencer Di Mondo and the media company Mega. The ruling comes following a preparatory hearing regarding a lawsuit filed by Di Mondo, who alleges discrimination, breach of medical confidentiality, and indirect dismissal.
The lawsuit stems from Di Mondo's failed participation in the reality show ‘El Internado’. The plaintiff claims that production members learned of his HIV diagnosis before he did, violating his medical privacy. Di Mondo is seeking total compensation of approximately 705.6 million pesos, which includes unpaid wages and damages for the violation of fundamental rights.
During the hearing, the court rejected a request from Mega to implement a restraining order preventing Di Mondo and his advisor from visiting Global Content offices in Peru. Additionally, the court addressed requests regarding media presence in the courtroom. Due to the complexity and length of the proceedings, the hearing was not concluded; further sessions are scheduled for November 2026 and December 2027 to discuss the merits of the case.
