Santiago de Cuba hosts 36th National Youth Radio Contest

The 36th edition of the Antonio Lloga In Memoriam National Youth Radio Workshop and Contest was held in Santiago de Cuba. Organized by the Asociación Hermanos Saíz (AHS), the event showcased 72 works from 83 young participants representing 13 provinces, 25 radio stations, and two university radio bases.

Journalism student Yeema Martínez Yee from Radio Angulo won the Grand Prize for her work ‘Vender la inocencia’. The event also honored several individuals with the ‘Maestros de la Radio’ distinction, including Luis Izquierdo Valdés and César Hidalgo Torres. Additionally, the ceremony marked the 40th anniversary of the Asociación Hermanos Saíz and the 90th anniversary of CMKO Radio Angulo.

This edition of the contest was dedicated to the memory of the sports radio commentator and coincided with the centenary of Fidel Castro Ruz's birth. Awards were distributed across various categories, including direction, scriptwriting, recording, editing, sound design, and sports podcasting.
