Santiago de los Caballeros inaugurates grotto for Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia

The Santiago de los Caballeros City Council has inaugurated and blessed a grotto dedicated to Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia. Located in the side gardens of the Municipal Palace, the space is intended for prayer, reflection, and religious devotion.

The ceremony was led by Mayor Ulises Rodríguez and included blessings from Archbishop Héctor Rafael Rodríguez and emeritus auxiliary bishop Plinio Valentín Reynoso Hidalgo. The site is designed to serve as a spiritual refuge for municipal employees, local residents, and visitors, remaining accessible both on weekdays and weekends.

During the event, members of the National Commission Unidos por La Altagracia presented the Mayor and his wife, Iris Cepín de Rodríguez, with a commemorative book titled ‘La que eligió su pueblo’, which documents the centenary of the canonical coronation of the image of Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia.
