Santiago de Riba Ul cleaning contract faces delays due to subcontracting

The Union of Parishes of Santiago de Riba Ul, Ul, Macinhata da Seixa, and Madail is facing difficulties with a public road cleaning contract valued at 60,670 euros. The contracted company, which was awarded the bid due to a particularly low proposal, has resorted to subcontracting part of the service to a second firm.

This arrangement has caused operational delays. While one team performs vegetation cutting, the second team responsible for waste collection and transport does not always arrive immediately, leaving debris on the roads. Local official Ricardo Gaspar admitted that the service is not running as desired, noting that the primary contractor realized it could not fulfill its commitments alone.
