A man confessed to the femicide of his partner, 32-year-old Karen Romina García, in the Villa del Carmen neighborhood of Santiago del Estero. The incident occurred early Tuesday morning around 6:00 AM.

According to reports, Rubén Ricardo Carrizo killed García by asphyxiation with a pillow while their four children—aged 9, 5, 3, and 1—were sleeping in another room. After the act, Carrizo traveled to his mother's home, where he informed a cousin of his actions before proceeding to the 3rd Police Station to confess.

During his statement, Carrizo attempted to justify the killing by claiming García had previously caused a fire that endangered their children, a claim the victim's family disputes, stating the fire was an accident caused by one of the children.

Prosecutor Lucía González Farías has ordered an autopsy and psychophysical evaluations for the suspect. The four children have been placed in the care of their maternal grandmother.
