Santiago del Estero signs agreement to boost animal health diagnostics
The Ministry of Production, Natural Resources, Forestry and Lands and the Professional Council of Veterinary Physicians have signed an agreement to implement a public-private management model aimed at strengthening animal health diagnostics and sanitary surveillance for the provincial livestock sector.
The agreement focuses on the operation and management of the Provincial Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. The initiative seeks to recover existing infrastructure and equipment while progressively expanding services for the productive sector. Key objectives include obtaining official authorization from Senasa to join the National Laboratory Network for diagnosing brucellosis and other sanitary diseases of interest.
Planned analytical services include histopathology, diagnosis of venereal reproductive diseases, and parasitological studies. The implementation will occur in stages, covering building renovations, equipment acquisition, official certification, staff training, and the eventual development of a provincial epidemiological surveillance system.
