Santiago Diaz Ortega wins two events at Morocco Royal Tour in El Jadida

Colombian rider Santiago Diaz Ortega achieved a double victory during the El Jadida stage of the Morocco Royal Tour 2026. On Friday, he won two separate events.

In the afternoon, Diaz Ortega secured a win in the 1.45m CSI 5*-W event riding Karajan JT Z. Later that day, he won the major Prix FBP International at 1.50m riding Jump For Joy. The latter victory served as a qualifier for the Grand Prix de Sa Majesté le Roi Mohammed VI.

The 1.50m course, designed by Italian course designer Uliano Vezzani, featured technical challenges including multiple double combinations. Diaz Ortega finished ahead of Roberto Previtali on Conthargho-Blue and Antoine Ermann on Odin Van ’T Hanegoor. Despite qualifying for the upcoming Grand Prix with Jump For Joy, the rider noted the horse would not participate in that specific event to conclude its weekend.
