Santiago do Cacém users demand urgent repairs to EN120 road

The Public Services Users Commission of Santiago do Cacém has approved a resolution demanding urgent intervention on the National Road 120 (EN120) between the municipal seat and Tanganheira. The commission is calling on the Portuguese government and Infraestruturas de Portugal to address the road's progressive degradation.

According to the resolution, the EN120 is a vital structural route for local populations, but it currently suffers from significant issues including large deformations, cracks in the pavement, uneven surfaces, and unmaintained shoulders. The commission noted that these conditions have caused damage to vehicles and pose risks to traffic circulation, particularly during winter weather. The group is seeking comprehensive repairs rather than superficial cosmetic fixes, such as repainting horizontal signage.
