Santiago Gimenez transfer talks continue between AC Milan and FC Porto

Negotiations between AC Milan and FC Porto regarding Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez are ongoing after Milan rejected an initial proposal. Porto’s first offer reportedly consisted of a free loan with an option to buy for approximately 15 million euros, which could become a mandatory purchase based on specific performance milestones.

AC Milan has rejected this structure, seeking a higher transfer fee or a more lucrative loan-to-buy arrangement, with some reports suggesting a target in the 20 million to 25 million euro range. The impasse follows a difficult period for Gimenez at Milan, where injuries and inconsistent form have impacted his output since his 30 million euro move from Feyenoord in early 2025.

Gimenez’s father, Christian Gimenez, confirmed that talks are still active, describing the interest from Porto as a “great opportunity” for his son to regain confidence and playing time. While some reports suggested Porto might walk away, others indicate that discussions have been revitalized to find a middle ground between the two clubs.
