AC Milan striker Santiago Giménez excluded from preseason amid poor form

Mexican striker Santiago Giménez's future at AC Milan is uncertain after a poor scoring record and a recent ankle injury.

He has scored three goals in 12 official matches, averaging 0.25 goals per Serie A game and an 11.4% shot‑to‑goal conversion. The club, which paid €35 million for him, is reviewing his performance and may activate a transfer clause.

Giménez was omitted from the squad travelling to Australia for the preseason tour, missing friendlies against Inter Milan and Chelsea. Coach Ruben Amorim cited a grade‑two ankle sprain that will keep him in Milanello for several weeks. Other injured players such as Christian Pulisic are also absent.
