Santiago Giménez returns to Champions League with Porto in loss to Manchester City

Santiago Giménez made his UEFA Champions League return with FC Porto during their opening match against Manchester City. The Mexican striker entered the game in the 72nd minute, replacing André Silva, and played approximately 20 minutes.

Despite his participation, Porto was unable to overcome Manchester City, losing the match 0-2 at the Estádio do Dragão. Erling Haaland secured the victory for the English side with two goals.

Prior to this appearance, Porto coach Francesco Farioli had opted to manage Giménez's minutes due to his recent arrival at the club and an ongoing adaptation process following his time at AC Milan. Porto's next Champions League fixture is scheduled against Real Betis on September 14.
