Santiago Herrero discharged following brutal assault in Villa Carlos Paz

Santiago Herrero, a 15-year-old boy who was brutally assaulted in Villa Carlos Paz on July 9, has been discharged from the hospital after nearly a month of hospitalization. He has returned home to begin an intensive rehabilitation process to address physical and neurological consequences from the attack, which involved a heavy object being struck against his head.

His mother, María Laura Tamagnone, reported that Santiago faces challenges including difficulty swallowing, a low speaking voice, and motor response issues on the right side of his body. He is currently on a strict medication schedule to control neurological impulses and prevent seizures. His recovery plan will require multidisciplinary support, including neurological, kinesiological, and speech therapy.

Regarding the legal proceedings, the case has been classified as attempted homicide. Currently, five individuals are charged in connection with the aggression as the judicial investigation continues.
