Santiago Matías launches new political party for Dominican 2028 election

Dominican media entrepreneur Santiago Matías announced on Instagram that he will not accept a presidential candidacy from the Partido Reformista Social Cristiano (PRSC) or any other party that approached him. Instead, he will create his own political organization to contest the 2028 presidential election.

Matías said he will begin the signature‑collection process required by the Junta Central Electoral (JCE) and will travel nationwide to gather support, documenting each step and inviting the public to suggest a name for the new party. He thanked PRSC president Federico "Quique" Antún for the offer and noted that more than 15 parties had expressed interest in his candidacy. The move follows growing public attention on Matías, founder of Alofoke Media, who has become an influential voice in Dominican digital discourse.

His formal entry into politics marks the most significant political step of his public career to date.
