Santiago Matías pushes Dominicanos Primero political project

Santiago Matías, the businessman and communicator known as Alofoke, is actively working to formalize his political project, Dominicanos Primero, through signature collection drives in Santiago. During a recent event in Santiago, Matías emphasized his focus on achieving organizational goals and transparency before considering potential electoral matchups for 2028.

The movement is gaining traction among certain sectors; physician and political leader José Alfonso Collado Calderón announced his resignation from the Fuerza del Pueblo to support Matías, citing a need for political renewal and new leadership.

Recent polling by ACD Media shows Matías holding a 3.6% presidential preference, trailing established parties like the PRM (17.4%), Fuerza del Pueblo (14.2%), and PLD (9.5%). Political analyst Rosario Espinal noted that while Matías has high name recognition due to his media presence, he has not yet become a full political phenomenon, suggesting that early polling results lack scientific rigor.
