Santiago Nicolás debuts EBM album as Luis Fonsi notes shifting music trends
Santiago Nicolás has released his debut album, ‘Atrición’, a work rooted in contemporary EBM and techno-industrial sounds. The album explores themes of modernity, vulnerability, and human suffering, drawing inspiration from the artist's experiences within an oncology center. The project features eight tracks, including ‘Ensayo Continuo de Precisión’ in collaboration with Kimin Kim, which utilizes both Spanish and Korean linguistic elements.
Separately, singer Luis Fonsi has commented on the evolving structure of modern music. He notes that contemporary listening habits have led to shorter songs with minimal introductions. Fonsi observes that artists must now reach the chorus quickly, often within 30 seconds, to satisfy current audience expectations, moving away from traditional long intros, bridges, and key changes.
