Santiago prepares for Fiestas Patrias with cultural events and travel planning
As Chile approaches its Fiestas Patrias celebrations, various activities and travel considerations are emerging for the upcoming holiday period.
In Santiago, several events are scheduled for the weekend of September 11 to 13. Highlights include the “Viva Chile Sinfónico” concert featuring the Orquesta Filodramática de Chile at Teatro CA660, and the Ghiblimanía Fair at Centro Cultural Casa de los Diez. Additionally, the Semana de la Chilenidad will begin, offering traditional festivities in a family-friendly environment.
Regarding travel, experts advise planning ahead to avoid high costs associated with last-minute bookings for transport and lodging. A study by XTB indicates that a five-day stay in Chile costs approximately $614,177 per person, making it more expensive than several regional alternatives. Countries such as Bolivia, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Ecuador, and Honduras were identified as more budget-friendly destinations for short trips during this period.
