Santiago school rector threatened by former student

A 17-year-old former student of the Instituto Nacional in Santiago has been detained following death threats made against the school's rector, Carolina Vega Thollander, via social media.

The investigation was initiated after Meta alerted Chilean authorities through international cooperation channels regarding the threats. The Metropolitan Cybercrime Investigation Brigade used criminal analysis and open-source intelligence to identify the minor, who had previously been expelled from the institution. The case has been referred to the Public Ministry to ensure the physical safety and integrity of the rector.
