The number of students affected by stomach ailments at the Fernando Valerio school in Villa González, Santiago, has risen to 68. Including one teacher, a total of 69 people have reported symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, and stomach pain.

The symptoms appeared approximately one hour after the distribution of chocolate milk provided as part of the school breakfast. While the milk showed no visible signs of spoilage, authorities have suspended its delivery to the school until further notice.

Technicians and medical professionals from the National Institute of Student Welfare (Inabie) and the Ministry of Public Health are currently investigating the incident. In addition to the milk, officials are also evaluating another breakfast item known as 'cocote' to determine if it contributed to the illnesses. The affected students have been treated and are reported to be out of danger.
