Santiago transport routes increase urban fares to 40 pesos

In Santiago, Dominican Republic, several urban transport routes have increased passenger fares from 35 to 40 pesos. The Federation of Regional Transport Workers of the Northern Region (Fettranreno) implemented the change, citing rising costs for fuel and spare parts as the primary drivers for the adjustment.

While urban routes such as A, B, C, K, E, O, R, and T are applying the new rate, interurban routes traveling to Puerto Plata, Mao, Nagua, and La Charca will maintain their current prices. These increases were made without authorization from the National Institute of Transit and Land Transport (Intrant), which has been called upon to conduct a technical study to establish official urban fare prices.
