Santino Brunetti, longtime priest of Maliseti, dies at 83

The community of Prato is mourning the death of Monsignor Santino Brunetti, who passed away at the age of 83 at the Santo Stefano Hospital while undergoing chemotherapy.

Brunetti served as the parish priest of Maliseti for 50 years, having been appointed to the role in 1975. During his half-century of service, he witnessed the significant growth and transformation of the local community. In addition to his pastoral work, he also directed the diocesan Caritas for several years.

Born in Massalengo, Brunetti worked as a carpenter from the age of 16 to support his family before pursuing his vocation. He was ordained a priest on February 28, 1971, by Bishop Pietro Fiordelli. He is succeeded in his role by Don Marco Locati.
