Santino Marella expresses interest in wrestling return
Former WWE Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella has stated that he is physically capable of returning to professional wrestling following a decade-long hiatus caused by injuries. Speaking with Cody Rhodes on the podcast ‘What Do You Wanna Talk About?’, Marella credited stem cell treatments, PRP, and red light therapy for restoring his mobility, noting he can now perform movements such as handsprings.
Marella’s full-time career ended around 2016 after he underwent neck surgery in 2014 and suffered from degenerated discs in his lower back. He expressed that his primary motivation for a potential return is personal: “I want to wrestle in front of my son,” Marella said, noting that his seven-year-old has never seen him compete live.
Other professional wrestlers, including Rey Mysterio and Kevin Nash, have also utilized similar regenerative treatments to extend their careers.
