Santo Domingo Norte experiences property titling and waste management debates

In Santo Domingo Norte, the government has distributed 422 free property titles, benefiting approximately 2,000 people across various sectors of Greater Santo Domingo. Officials from the Ministry of Housing, Habitat, and Buildings (MIVHED) stated that these certificates provide legal security and increase property value for families who have waited decades for documentation.

Separately, the administration of Mayor Betty Gerónimo is facing scrutiny regarding solid waste collection contracts. New contracts valued at approximately RD 2,100 million are set for a four-year duration, a move critics argue could influence the municipal administration beyond her current term ending in 2028.
