Santo Domingo Norte Mayor accused of using municipal funds for resort retreat

Allegations have surfaced regarding the misuse of municipal funds by the Mayor of Santo Domingo Norte, Betty Gerónimo. Reports indicate that a recent retreat at a resort was financed using resources from the Ayuntamiento de Santo Domingo Norte (ASDN).

Sources claim that the scale of the expenditure was excessive compared to previous administrations. While past municipal retreats were typically limited to the City Council, the Mayor, and a small circle of officials, this recent event reportedly included a much larger group, including staff from the administrative, financial, and procurement departments, as well as office security.
