Santo Dorp police arrest 18-year-old for sexual abuse of a minor

Police in Santo Dorp have arrested 18-year-old Z. P., known locally as ‘Deki’, for the sexual abuse of a 14-year-old girl. The incident occurred on August 6 when the victim went to her uncle's house to look for a phone charger.

The victim reported that the suspect locked the door and forced her into a bedroom, where he sexually abused her despite her repeated requests to stop. Following the incident, the suspect allegedly instructed her not to tell anyone. The victim immediately informed a cousin, which led to her father being notified and subsequently filing a police report.

Following consultation with the Public Prosecution Service, the suspect has been detained pending further investigation. Authorities have encouraged victims of sexual violence to report such incidents as quickly as possible.
