Santo Tomé: Footballer dies after medical emergency, son arrested for hospital damage

A veteran football player, 50-year-old Fabián Leonardo Barro, died on Saturday in Santo Tomé after suffering a medical emergency during a match. Barro was a member of the Casa Club team within the Asociación Deportiva Santotomesina de Veteranos.

Following the news of his death, Barro's 19-year-old son was apprehended by police after causing damage to the emergency ward of the local SAMCo health center. Reports indicate the young man reacted violently, breaking glass doors at the facility. Local police from the Comando Radioeléctrico intervened to take the individual into custody.
