Santo Tomé honors Jeremías Monzón with memorial mural and plaza naming

Residents, friends, and family gathered in Santo Tomé to honor the memory of Jeremías Monzón on the day he would have turned 16. The tribute took place at the local waterfront (Costanera), specifically near the skate park that Monzón frequented during his childhood and adolescence.

During the event, a mural was inaugurated featuring the dedication: ‘Your smile remained with us, your path continues in every memory, we will never stop seeing you pass by’. Additionally, a tree was planted in his memory, and local council members presented the family with a plaque.

Following a municipal ordinance approved in August, the plaza located next to the skate park will officially bear the name ‘Jeremías Monzón’. The community event included a procession from Cinco Esquinas through 7 de Marzo and Iriondo streets to the waterfront area.
