Santo Tomé implements traffic diversions for bridge works
The Municipality of Santo Tomé has announced a new traffic diversion plan effective Monday, August 31, due to construction works on Avenida 7 de Marzo related to the new Santa Fe-Santo Tomé bridge.
Key changes include the transformation of Mitre Street into a one-way artery flowing from south to north between Hernandarias and Avenida 7 de Marzo. Drivers traveling from Santo Tomé toward Santa Fe must divert via Maciá and Colón streets to reach Mitre Street for access to the Puente Carretero. To prevent congestion, Mitre Street will also be accessible via General López, Juan de Garay, and Derqui streets.
For those entering Santo Tomé from Santa Fe, left turns toward Mariano Candioti from Avenida 7 de Marzo will be prohibited. Drivers must instead continue to Maciá Street to complete the turn. Authorities recommend using the Acceso Norte as an alternative route and advise residents in the southern sector to use Hernandarias to Mitre to avoid the construction zone. The works on Avenida 7 de Marzo are expected to last at least four months.
