Santo Tomás inaugurates first campus extension in Iquique

Santo Tomás has inaugurated its first campus extension, Sede Prat, in Iquique, Chile. This opening marks the institution's first move toward an extension model nationwide, representing a milestone in its institutional history and regional projection.

The expansion is part of a long-term strategy to modernize infrastructure, improve learning conditions, and support the growth of educational communities across various regions. Tomás Rivadeneira, President of the Board of Directors, noted that the institution is implementing an infrastructure plan involving new buildings, expansions, and renovations across 18 campuses throughout Chile.

The ceremony was attended by national and regional authorities, including the Undersecretary of Higher Education, Fernanda Valdés, and the Regional Governor of Tarapacá, José Miguel Carvajal. Valdés described the event as a significant development for the Iquique and Tarapacá regions, noting that the new space consolidates Santo Tomás as a major educational actor in the area.
