Santorini Hospital completes first operational air ambulance flight

The Thira Hospital in Santorini successfully completed its first operational flight using a new aircraft provided by the Nomikos Foundation. Greek Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis announced that the maiden mission involved a demanding double medical evacuation from Santorini to Athens.

During the mission, medical teams transported two patients, including one intubated individual suffering from a severe intracerebral hemorrhage who required urgent transfer to a specialized facility. The operation involved coordinated efforts between the hospital staff, the aircraft crew, and the National Center for Emergency Care (EKAB). Both patients were safely delivered to different hospitals in Athens.
