Santos and Salvador launch new urban infrastructure projects

The City of Santos is launching the ‘Inova Feira’ project, which will introduce six modern, compact, and fully accessible mobile sanitary trailers to local street markets. Starting next Tuesday, the first three units will be deployed in the Aparecida, Marapé, and Vila Mathias neighborhoods. These new trailers are designed to occupy only one parking space—half the space required by previous models—and feature ramps, adapted sinks, and urinals to ensure accessibility for people with disabilities. The remaining three units will be delivered bi-weekly through December.

In Salvador, the municipal government has inaugurated the Novo Imbuí linear park, a project transforming the central median of Avenida Jorge Amado. With an investment exceeding R$ 6 million, the 20,000-square-meter space includes 140 new trees, 12 commercial kiosks, a tennis court, a pet park, and a health gym. The renovation also features permeable interlocking pavement, a renovated skate park, and a restored monument to writer Jorge Amado.
