A striking dark line separating two shades of water was observed off the coast of Santos, São Paulo, on Monday, March 3. Drone footage captured a clear boundary where the less dense, organic‑rich water from the Santos estuary meets the denser, saltier open‑sea water, creating a visible contrast similar to the Amazon’s “Meeting of Waters.”

City officials explained that the phenomenon is a natural result of differing water densities and sediment loads, not pollution.
