Santos cruise season projected to generate R$ 1.5 billion

The 2026/2027 cruise season at the Port of Santos is projected to generate an economic impact of R$ 1.5 billion for the Baixada Santista region. Scheduled to run from October 2026 to April 2027, the operation will include 161 ship calls involving ten large vessels and 640,000 available berths.

Official estimates from the City of Santos and the São Paulo State Secretariat of Tourism and Travel indicate that approximately 832,000 people, including both passengers and crew, will move through the terminal. December is expected to be the peak month, accounting for 27% of the total volume with 40 calls and roughly 214,000 people.

The Port of Santos serves as a major logistical hub in South America, connecting various routes including Rio de Janeiro, southern Brazil, and the Rio de la Plata basin. Beyond the port, the activity is expected to benefit local sectors such as restaurants, retail, transportation, and hotels through visitor spending in embarkation, disembarkation, and stopover cities.
