Santos FC faces internal tension over flight agreement breach

Tension has arisen within Santos Futebol Clube following a breach of agreement between the club's board, players, and organized supporters. A prior agreement stipulated that only official directors, the squad, and technical staff would be permitted in locker rooms and on team travels to maintain a professional environment.

However, during a chartered flight to Ecuador for a Copa Sul-Americana match against Macará, the board allowed journalists, club counselors, and other guests to travel on the same aircraft as the players. This decision led to visible dissatisfaction among the squad, with reports of players complaining loudly during the flight.

The organized supporters group, Torcida Jovem, issued a statement criticizing the lack of transparency. The club management reportedly justified the decision by stating that journalists had been invited in advance and that canceling would have been “deselegante” (undignified). The club has since guaranteed that such an incident will not be repeated.
