Santos FC nears R$ 18 million deal to sell JP Chermont to Sharjah FC

Santos FC is nearing a deal to sell 20-year-old right-back JP Chermont to Sharjah FC of the United Arab Emirates. The transfer is valued at approximately $3.45 million to $3.5 million, which equates to roughly R$ 18 million.

Chermont, who was currently on loan at Coritiba, must undergo medical examinations before the deal is finalized. Due to a showcase clause in his loan agreement, Coritiba is entitled to 10% of the total negotiation value.

The sale is expected to provide significant financial relief for Santos, which has faced recent difficulties managing its finances and payroll. The transfer window in the United Arab Emirates remains open until September 28.
