Santos FC targets player sales to balance books while prepping for friendly match
Santos Football Club is focusing on financial stability ahead of the 2026 transfer window. Executive director Alexandre Mattos said the club will prioritize valuing internal assets, looking to sell promising talents such as forward Robinho Jr., goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão and defender JP Chermont to strengthen the cash flow while maintaining competitiveness.
At the same time, Santos will resume match activity with a non‑official friendly against União São João at the Pacaembu stadium. Coach Cuca will be without Neymar, who is on Brazil’s World Cup roster, and has doubts over Igor Vinícius and Gabriel Bontempo. The announced lineup includes Gabriel Brazão; Gabriel Menino, Lucas Veríssimo, Luan Peres, Escobar; Willian Arão, Christian Oliva, Rollheiser; Miguelito, Gabigol and Barreal.
The club aims to balance its books through selective player transfers while giving squad members match minutes in the preparatory game.
