Santos FC terminates contracts of forwards Brahimi and Díaz as club cuts costs

Santos Futebol Clube officially rescinded the contracts of two forwards. Franco‑Algerian striker Billal Brahimi, who had logged only 26 minutes for the team and spent the latest season on loan at Estrela da Amadora in Portugal, had his agreement terminated, saving the club up to R$ 8 million. Argentine forward Lautaro Díaz, on loan from Cruzeiro and who recorded four goals in 34 appearances, was also released and is free to join Racing in Argentina.

Both departures come as Santos grapples with severe financial constraints, delayed player salaries, a FIFA‑imposed transfer ban, and a battle to avoid relegation in the Brazilian league.
