Santos Film Fest wins São Paulo State Governor's Award
The Santos Film Fest has been awarded the 2025 'Prêmio Governador do Estado para as Artes' in the Audiovisual category, the most significant cultural award provided by the Government of the State of São Paulo. The 11th edition of the festival, organized by Instituto CineZen Cultural, featured over 100 free screenings across 15 locations in Santos, focusing on audience formation and democratizing access to cinema.
Looking ahead to the 2026 edition, the festival is preparing its upcoming program, which is scheduled to open on August 18 at Cine Roxy 5. The upcoming festival will include tributes to cultural producer Renato Di Renzo and municipal Secretary of Culture Rafael Leal. Special programming includes a centenary celebration for Marilyn Monroe at the Cinemateca de Santos and an outdoor screening of Buster Keaton's 'A General' at the Concha Acústica. The festival will continue to showcase a variety of genres, including documentaries, animation, and regional productions from the Baixada Santista.
