Santos FC and Brazilian government regularize Rei Pelé Training Center

The Brazilian federal government and Santos Futebol Clube have signed an agreement to regularize the use of the Rei Pelé Training Center in Santos, São Paulo. The deal provides the club with a concession for the 39,000-square-meter property for a period of 20 to 40 years, depending on the specific terms of the renewal and concession agreement.

As part of the settlement, Santos will pay a monthly fee for the use of the land, with reports citing figures between R$ 100,000 and R$ 145,167.42, adjusted by the IPCA index. Additionally, the club has recognized a debt of approximately R$ 23 million related to previous use of the site, which is scheduled to be paid over 120 months.

The agreement, facilitated by the Attorney General of the Union and the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services, aims to resolve long-standing legal uncertainty regarding the occupation of the site and the improvements made by the club. While the federal government retains ownership of the property, which is valued at approximately R$ 79.76 million, the deal ensures the continuity of the club's athletic activities and provides a structured revenue stream for the Union.
