Santos hosts pedestrianism race for 2,000 athletes

Approximately 2,000 athletes participated in the second stage of the 39th Santista Pedestrianism Championship in Santos. The event, organized by the Municipal Sports Secretariat (Semes), served as part of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Zona Noroeste district.

In the women's elite category, Louise Madsen Figueiredo won with a time of 36:52. In the men's category, Jeffrey Carrel Gomes da Silva took first place with a time of 31:59. The main 10 km course passed through the Jardim Botânico and the Sambódromo.

Additional routes were provided for women over 70, men aged 75 and older, and individuals with intellectual disabilities. Sports Secretary Rogério Sampaio noted the tradition of the competition and expressed intentions to expand participation for the upcoming 40th edition of the championship.
