Santos implements urban revitalization and climate preparedness initiatives

The city of Santos is advancing several municipal programs focused on infrastructure and environmental awareness. Through the Procanais program, teams are revitalizing various canal structures, including repairs to slopes, crack sealing, and cleaning. Work is currently concentrated on Canal 1 between the Marapé and Vila Belmiro neighborhoods, with further interventions planned for Canals 2 and 3 through 2027 and 2028.

In response to environmental concerns, the Santos Commercial Association (ACS) hosted the ‘El Niño Day’ event. Experts discussed the projected climatic impacts of intense El Niño phenomena for 2026 and 2027, specifically addressing risks to agribusiness, maritime transport, port infrastructure, and urban planning.

Additionally, the municipal government has updated the ‘Portal do Servidor’ to improve communication with over 11,000 civil servants. The platform now features a new layout designed to facilitate access to services such as payroll consultation and social security information.
