Santos Iñurrieta exhibition opens in Bilbao while Marisol retrospective launches in Santander

The works of late Spanish painter Santos Iñurrieta, known for his vivid Mallorcan landscapes, are on display at the Juan Manuel Lumbreras gallery in Bilbao from June 18 to July 30. The show, titled “Paisajes para paseos personales,” features 54 paintings that have never been exhibited before, and will be complemented by a book launch and a short documentary at the Artium Museum in Vitoria-Gasteiz.

In Santander, the Centro Botín is hosting a retrospective of Venezuelan‑born sculptor and painter Marisol Escobar, titled “Cuando todo está por comenzar.” The exhibition, open until October 25, presents a range of her drawings, sculptures, and archival video, tracing her artistic journey from Caracas and Los Ángeles to Paris and New York, and highlighting her collaborations with Andy Warhol.

Both exhibitions underline a renewed interest in mid‑20th‑century European and Latin American artists within Spain’s contemporary museum circuit.
