Santos Laguna defeats Querétaro 5-0 with Jiménez hat-trick

Santos Laguna secured their fifth consecutive victory in the Liga MX Apertura 2026 tournament with a dominant 5-0 win over Querétaro at the Estadio TSM Corona. The standout performer was 20-year-old striker Tahiel Jiménez, who scored a hat-trick with goals in the 29th, 63rd, and 93rd minutes.

Other goals for Santos were provided by Eduardo ‘Mudo’ Aguirre in the 44th minute and Javier Güemez via a penalty in the 87th minute. The match also saw a red card for Querétaro’s Diego Reyes in the 67th minute following a VAR review.

This result moves Santos Laguna to 16 points, placing them in 8th position and within reach of the Liguilla qualification zone. Conversely, Querétaro remains at 20 points but drops to 5th place in the standings, suffering their first five-goal concession under manager Esteban González.
