Santos leads São Paulo clubs in post-World Cup performance
Since the resumption of the Brazilian Série A following the World Cup break, Santos has achieved the highest performance rate among teams from the state of São Paulo. Despite currently fighting against relegation, Santos holds a 58% success rate with five wins, four draws, and two losses. This places them fifth in the overall first-division ranking for the post-World Cup period.
Santos slightly edges out rival Palmeiras, who holds a 57.58% success rate. While Palmeiras currently leads the league, both clubs remain active in multiple competitions and are scheduled to face each other in the Copa do Brasil quarterfinals.
In contrast, São Paulo is struggling, recording only one win in seven matches since the season resumed, resulting in a 28.57% success rate. Nationally, Athletico Paranaense leads the overall Série A performance ranking with a 70.83% success rate, followed by Cruzeiro and Atlético-MG.
