Santos striker Gustavo Caballero taken to police station

Santos FC forward Gustavo Caballero was taken to a police station on Tuesday afternoon after being stopped by Military Police. The incident occurred while the Paraguayan player was crossing a ferry connecting Santos to Guarujá in coastal São Paulo.

During the police stop, officers identified that the vehicle Caballero was driving had a report of theft. According to a statement from Santos FC, the player had rented the car from a specialized rental company. The club stated that they are working to clarify the facts with the competent authorities and the rental company, and they remain available to assist in investigations.

There is currently no information indicating whether the player was aware of the vehicle's status. Caballero had participated in regular team training earlier that morning before the encounter with law enforcement.
