Santos FC terminates Tiquinho Soares contract

Santos Futebol Clube announced the mutual rescission of forward Tiquinho Soares' contract, which had been valid until the end of 2027. The termination was registered in the CBF's Daily Information Bulletin (BID) on Friday, July 17. The 35‑year‑old striker, who joined Santos in January 2025 as part of a deal that also involved defender Jair moving to Botafogo, failed to secure a regular place in the squad, scoring only seven goals in 40 official matches.

During the 2026 season he was loaned to Mirassol, where he appeared in ten games and scored once, prompting the club to consider ending the partnership. With the contract cancelled, Tiquinho is now a free agent. Fortaleza, a Serie B side, has been mentioned as a potential suitor, although negotiations have not yet concluded.
